Day 2 of my new post series and today’s inspiration is a favorite book of mine growing up, The Two Princesses of Bamarre.
A bit of background here is that I didn’t grow up watching Disney princess movies. We didn’t watch a lot of TV in general, and my parents weren’t fans of the princess thing either. A few of my girlfriends got together in middle school to marathon a few Disney princess movies because they said I “had” to see them, but I think part of the magic is lost when you’re not really a kid anymore!
Hello lovely friends! Lately our life is pretty boring, so I’m going to skip the Life Lately’s for a few weeks. Instead, I’ve been thinking about one of the topics that Fiona Ferris writes about in her “chic” book series (there are three main books in the series + others on more specific topics, like healthy eating and curating a chic closet).
As I’m reading the Thirty Chic Days series, I realize that as a reader of mostly non-fiction/self-help books, I definitely gravitate towards books written by women who aren’t parents.
I’m a 90s child; Eric and I are technically the very youngest millennials, born in ’94 and ’95. (Cradle robber, I am! Seven weeks older than my husband ;P) And like many millennials, I’m a child of feminists and the attitude that men and women are created perfectly equal. But during college, I began to reject that idea. And now as a late 20-something, I reject it wholeheartedly.
