K. J. Walker arrived in the wee hours of the morning on September 21, 2022. His birth was finally what I wanted out of labor & delivery: quick, in the hospital, with a doula and wonderful OB, just gas & air for pain management, and most importantly, safe, peaceful and non-traumatic.
My first two births were pretty wild by comparison, but I finally feel at peace and honestly like I could have five more kids if my labors and deliveries were that wonderful! (Kidding, kidding.)… Read More »
I often think about the fact that in two and a half short years, it will be time for my oldest child to start kindergarten.
Not in a teary, nostalgic kind of way–this child loves friends, adventures, learning, and general commotion; he’s a strong-willed, high-energy child–but in a “what am I going to do about that?” kind of way.

We just got back from a quite tumultuous trip to Oahu for my one of my best friends’ wedding. The wedding itself was a gorgeous, fun, low-key event, and one of the beaches near our hotel was also lovely. Besides that though, the trip left a lot to be desired…

Bit of a random topic for today’s post, but I was thinking about an experience I had earlier this week.
Due to my dysregulated microbiome, I’m quite prone to certain types of infections–which aren’t life-threatening, just annoying–and unfortunately end up at the doctor’s office more than I’d like.
