Today I’m bringing back another old kind of blog post: my favorite things this month!
Whilst I don’t shop too often, I love reading other bloggers’ recommendations for their favorite products. I’ve found so many of my own favorites that way, and often I’m able to support small businesses that I never would have known about otherwise.
This month I’ve been all about snuggly warm clothes and self-care things. January and February are quite brutal months here in Minnesota, so it’s more important than ever to pour into yourself during this time!
December 2021 Favorites
Favorite skincare: Sunfolk Apothecary Radiant Balm. The owner is on holiday break right now, but if you ever see one of her handmade products in stock–run don’t walk. This moisturizer is so light but also deeply moisturizing, the perfect combination for our extremely dry winters.
Favorite outerwear: Last month I would have said my new snow boots, but this month it’s my new mittens. I have the worst circulation ever but mittens (versus gloves) definitely help keep my fingers warmer. And these ones can’t be beat with their soft, fleecy lining and thick, waterproof insulation.
Favorite clothes: lululemon Align leggings, hands-down. I’m probably the last person on earth to discover what a difference good leggings make, but here we are! So soft and comfortable, and they aren’t constantly falling down like my cheaper ones.
Favorite book: Honestly, I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut lately after finishing Hunt, Gather, Parent. I received Raising Good Humans and Elevating Childcare for Christmas, so hopefully I’ll have more book reviews for you soon.
Favorite activity: Taking the boys to the Minnesota Zoo! We’ve already been twice since renewing our membership and we’re planning to go again on Friday (Eric has the day off). I love the Tropics Trail in the middle of winter… I wonder if the zookeepers would notice if I moved in? ;P
Favorite healthy snack: We’ve been eating far too many Christmas cookies lately, but when I’m munching my mom’s dark chocolate fudge, I’ve been reaching for these “Larabars.” They’re similar to real Larabars, but they have more nuts and less dates so they’re less sweet–which I like since I have the opposite of a sweet tooth. Minus fudge… understandably!
Okay… my time is up and it’s off to grab kiddos for the afternoon! Those are my favorites for December. What are your favorite products and food must-haves lately?
