Last week and this week have simply not been great. There’s been a lot of stuff going on and plentyyy of preschool viruses on top of that–we’ve been to the doctor several times over the past few weeks for respiratory illnesses, junky coughs, etc. Just can’t seem to shake it! I feel like someone gets better and then another one of us gets sick on repeat.
Anyways, let’s not dwell on the negative. We’ve had some fun, too. Let’s chat!
Dinners lately: Nothing noteworthy except we ordered pizza for the first time in probably six months. We rarely order takeout so it feels like a real treat when we do have a hot dinner delivered! (Pizza Luce is my go-to for GF pizza–the baked potato pizza is to die for. Eric prefers the Spanish chicken pizza though.)
Christmas prep lately: We’ve been working on our advent calendar. Over the weekend we picked up some groceries for VEAP and also decorated a gingerbread house! The older kids LOVED this tradition and it will definitely be part of our holiday season in the future, too 🙂
Ugh moment lately: I ordered a present for little E from a small company. The present was stolen in the mail. They kindly replaced it for free, but since I didn’t get an order confirmation again, I assumed it wouldn’t ship in time for Christmas. I ordered a similar item from a different company… guess what arrived today? Now I have two of the same gift and need to return one. A lesson in patience, lol.
Watching lately: The end of Bakeoff last week (no spoilers!) and way too much Daniel Tiger since the kids have been sick and home from school.
Favorite bible verse lately: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
Weekend plans: Toys for Tots shopping, hopefully dinner out with my sister, baking cookies and wrapping a few gifts that arrived this week! And deep cleaning the bathrooms… goodness knows they need it.
What’s on the docket for you this weekend? Are you baking Christmas cookies yet?
xx Claire
