I think April and May are busier than Christmastime when you have kids. Usually I feel as if I have, like, three friends (and that’s great, I’m an introvert lol) but somehow I have about seventy-six social obligations in two months’ time once the weather turns warm.
Also I’ve just been feeling like I’m waiting lately. There are so many exciting things coming up in our lives, not just at the beginning of summer but also this fall and winter, and I feel like I just can’t wait sometimes. I always struggle with staying present and not thinking the grass is greener six months from now, you know? But I know that’s a perpetual struggle for a lot of people, not just myself.
Anyways–enough random chitchat, let’s catch up!
Cuteness lately: I had to order some more mundane clothing basics for e/A lately and I couldn’t help but add some summer rompers for Baby K to the order, too. He is the cutest little dough ball lately! (And yes, that romper is 18 month size although he’s only 7 months old–he’s a big boy like e was!)
Toddlers lately: The kids and I have been enjoying being outside again now that it’s actually really nice. Rain or shine because there’s no such thing as bad weather, right?! It’s so nice to have a plain old yard to play in. Our old house was seriously lacking in the play-able land aspect, haha.
Socializing lately: A bridal shower for me, walks and dinners with friends, outings and meals with family, phone calls to catch up with loved ones far away. My sister will be in town soon and there are lots of plans for that! It’s just go go go right now and I’m tired but it’s fun.
House projects lately: We’ve been slowly installing curtains in every room. Also, we have all the supplies–minus seedlings–to plant our little container garden, and now that it’s warm enough, e and I will hop to it tomorrow.
Reading lately: I SO enjoyed Down to Earth but I’ve felt pretty uninspired in the reading department for the past couple of weeks. I started rereading The Highly Sensitive Person probably because I have been in many overstimulating situations lately and needed to feel seen 😛 I saw Fiona Ferris has a new short 100 Ways book so maybe I’ll grab that on my Kindle next.
Looking forward to: Date night next Friday. My sister and dad arriving home in a couple of weeks. The first wedding of this year in June. Hitting the pool once it opens soon. So many things!
Catch me up on your life lately in the comments! And have a great next week!
xx Claire
