I don’t know about you, but I am so excited for Christmas this year. I’ve been playing music since November 1, planning and ordering all the presents, and eagerly awaiting all of the hallmark moments of December. The first sledding trip, Toys for Tots shopping, baking cookies, everything!
My overly-ambitious goal is to be done shopping for gifts–not the homemade ones of course!–by December 1. We shall see if that transpires. I have been working away madly the past week. Kids gifts, check, stocking things, check, lists of ideas for family members, almost check.
Now, let’s chat about life lately! Apologies in advance for the lack of photos. All my photos this week had my kids in them!
Frustration lately: Oh daylight savings time, how I loathe you. Does anyone else feel like their entire family has gotten up on the wrong side of the bed every day this week, or is it just me?
Cooking lately: Can’t stop, won’t stop making all the warming winter meals lately! This week it was turkey pasta sauce, paleo sweet potato chili (seriously the best recipe–but double the meat if you need more protein!), and a ham, cheddar + peas quiche (loosely based on this recipe except like… totally different, lol).
Buy Nothing lately: I hit the Buy Nothing jackpot this week and snagged a Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair for the 2-year-old ($160 full price!) and a booster seat that straps onto a dining table chair, since we’ll be ditching the high chair soon.
Realizing lately: That whilst I resist the thought of heading out for a walk in the cold lately, I always end up feeling warmer afterwards. I have pretty poor circulation in my hands and feet, but my feet warm right up during a brisk walk. So it’s–parka on, boots on, let’s go every day!
Wondering lately: Who’s going to leave Bakeoff this week?! I’m pretty much always wondering that while the show is running… unfortunately I like everyone in the tent this year, so I’m going to be disappointed at whoever goes. I feel like it’s between Matty and Saku personally.
Weekend plans: A fun park event with the older tot, our family photo session, errands, a doctor’s appointment and more. Now, let’s hope I can stop waking up between 4-5am so I’ll be rested for all of that!
Have you started prepping for the holidays?
