Happy Friday! This week felt looong… serious TGIF vibes today! Little e is starting skating lessons tomorrow and we have an otherwise cozy, homey weekend planned with yummy breakfasts, healthy baking and some work projects for both of us.
I’d love for you to share your weekend plans in the comments section, and now let’s chat about life lately 🙂
Apartment lately: I’m still chipping away at furnishing our new-ish place. This past week saw us purchasing our second IKEA KIVIK couch (well, this one is a sectional at least, in a different color than our old sofa) and now I’m scouting out the perfect white/walnut console for the living room. Hmmm… decisions, decisions.
Holidays lately: We had a low-key New Years. On NYE, we went sledding at the nature center with my dad and little brother. On New Year’s Day, we had brunch at my mom’s house–German pancakes, our tradition–and video called my sister and her boyfriend to write our resolutions. My mom has a little notebook with all of our past lists since 2010 and it’s so funny to look back on them. One of my 2010 resolutions was “get a boyfriend”! (Spoiler alert, I did not.)
Outings lately: We had a massive snowstorm this week that essentially trapped us in our apartment for three days but we got out before it started on Monday for some hiking with the kids.
Sipping lately: Hot cacao every night + I recently ordered some mother’s milk tea as (1) I miss tea, and (2) my milk supply suuuucks. No pun intended 😛 At this point I’m three kids deep–and relatively unbothered about the prospect of supplementing with formula if need be–so I’m not going to lie to you and pretend breastfeeding is easy for me. My milk supply is always borderline not-enough, even though I drink a million ounces of water a day and eat all the galactagogues. But who knows, perhaps I’m just not drinking the right tea!
Preparations lately: Eric’s birthday is in less than two weeks and then little A’s is two weeks after that. So I’ve been buying birthday gifts and debating between cake recipes for them! I think I’m going to make little A a chocolate cake since he liked my birthday cake so much… sorry, chocolate-hating husband.
Blogging lately: Quite regularly! Most recently, I shared 23 ways to upgrade your life (part 1 & part 2) and also my December favorite products.
And that’s all the news that’s fit to print from the Walker household!
xx Claire
