Well this week has flown by and somehow it’s already Friday again! And it’s the Friday before Eric is taking an entire week off from work! He’s starting a new job in a couple weeks, and he decided to take some time off before that so we could catch up on many to-do’s.
So here’s a little peek at our lives lately before our big clean-up week!
Decluttering lately: Our closets… AKA disaster zones. Between the two of us, we pulled out over three huge trash bags worth of clothing, and a box of all my old office wear to give to a younger family member.
Now we have to tackle the kitchen, basement storage room, and kids’ closets. Since we’re hoping to move abroad soon(ish), we’re trying to keep the clutter to a minimum to make moving easier. And wow does the clutter pile up fast with little kids!
Toddler #1 lately: Little E has graduated to once-a-month speech therapy and we’ve been told he’s going to age out of the Birth to 3 program this summer! It’s a little bittersweet as we’ll have been working with them for 18 months by his birthday. But it’s a great milestone since he’s almost all caught up and starting preschool in June 🙂
I also registered him for spring swimming since he’s totally a fish in water. The class is optionally separating, i.e. parent not in the water, so we’ll see how he does with that!
Last thing: he’s getting his first haircut in forever this weekend and I’m kind of dying at the thought of parting with his precious curls :'( but they’re so long and tangly, so it’s time!
Toddler #2 lately: Little A is doing well in feeding therapy–he figured out how to drink from a straw cup this week! He’s also finally getting caught up on his shots, which makes me happy for travel/moving purposes. We had to put a complete stop on them when he was a few months old after he spiked a fever, became unresponsive and ended up in the ER. No issues since restarting, though.
Dreading lately: Finishing our taxes. I have to dig out all of our major medical bills from last year, of which there are approximately a zillion. We spent a huge part of our income on hospital/clinic bills, so it’s necessary, but ugh.
Looking forward to lately: Hiring a nanny one morning a week so I can do tasks that don’t involve kids. I’m hoping to keep our house cleaner, get on top of my meal prep game, and have time for blogging/photography. Yes, I know that’s too much for one morning… just let a girl dream!
Also, spring! It’s going to be in the 40s this weekend and rainy. That probably sounds terrible, but the rain will get rid of most of the snow and it will look spring-ier.
Now I’m off to write–hope you have a wonderful, warm, productive weekend friends!
xx Claire
