Happy Monday, friends! I skipped blogging last Friday, so here’s my weekly recap a few days late.
Holidays lately: We actually felt well enough to attend Thanksgiving dinner at my dad’s house. There were six little boys under 10 there! It was chaos at times. We brought sweet potato casserole and gluten-free pumpkin pie, and I ended up making the mashed potatoes once we arrived too. It was a pleasant evening 🙂
Christmas preparations lately: Picking and decorating our tree. I love seeing all our neighbors’ trees lit up in their windows at night. It’s very festive in our neighborhood! Also, I am SO close to being done with Christmas shopping–I might actually make my “done shopping by 12/01” goal. *Applause*
I’ll take a picture of our tree to share sometime this month. I just uploaded one but realized the kids’ stockings are in the corner, and you can see their names embroidered quite clearly!
Outings lately: Errands and the nature center. We’re still recovering–though luckily not contagious, as my doctor assured me–from a virus that left us all with nasty coughs, so we’ve been staying in a lot. Humidifier running, lots of books, a bit of TV, cough syrup and hot drinks every day.
Spoiling myself lately: I treated myself to a new laptop case with Black Friday sales going on, since my current case is 13 years old and worn through on the corners. Is Vera Bradley still popular? I don’t care, I’m indulging my inner teenage girl with pretty florals 😀
I also got more Branch Basics cleaning concentrate on sale, but that’s not very exciting.
Listening to lately: All the Christmas music. Some of my (childhood and now) favorite non-lyrical albums are “A Dave Brubeck Christmas,” “An Oscar Peterson Christmas,” “Sharing the Seasons,” “A Windham Hills Christmas,” and “The Gift.” My family loves their music!
This week’s plans: Doctor’s appointments, preschool, library story time, and my 29th birthday! Not a big or exciting one, haha. Next year I’ll turn 30 AND it will finally be my “golden birthday” sooo I’m on the “persuade Eric to buy me a cat for my 30th” train right now. This house is missing a fluffy friend.
We also get to start our advent calendar activities on Friday. December already!
How was your Thanksgiving? What’s one way you’ve spoiled yourself lately?
xx Claire
