Next weekend we’re headed to our fourth family photoshoot with our favorite family photographer. (Family and friends–if you’re in the Twin Cities, we can’t recommend Lauren Kirkbride Photography enough!) After a few years of wrangling littles for a family photo (or ten), Eric and I have some tips about how best to prepare… and how to adjust our expectations versus taking photos with just us.… Read More »
Life Lately: Halloween, Slowing Down, & Hello November!
We have had the most insane week so you’ll have to excuse the lack of posts lately–and the fact that I’m posting at 8pm on a Friday! Between preschool Halloween festivities, the actual holiday, kindergarten applications, a minor medical procedure (no worries, I’m fine!) and more, I’m feeling more frazzled than usual after this week.

This week has been full-on. My in-laws left on Tuesday morning, we’ve had three doctor’s appointments, two kindergarten info sessions, a trunk-or-treat, preschool, and nonstop wet weather to work around too. I wanted to share a blog post on Wednesday but had no time to finalize it before then. Needless to say, we’re taking it very slow this weekend.
But let’s chat a bit more about the week that was!… Read More »

The holidays are busy enough for everyone. Then you have kids, and 97% of December is spent putting on jackets and boots, packing up snacks and sitting in the car rushing from activity to activity. By the time January arrives, it feels like you’ve completely missed the holidays with all of the busyness.
So what’s a parent of littles to do?!
Here are our best tips for making the most of the holiday season with little kids. And by “the most,” I don’t mean “cramming in as many festivities as humanely possible.” I mean how to really enjoy the beauty and peace of the season, whilst still attending the events that are important to you.… Read More »
