Life Lately: Out & About & A Birthday
Happy Friday! I think when the days feel short, the weeks feel long–and when the days feel long, the weeks feel short. This was a looong day, short week kind of week in our house! Older tot had morning camp, we had plenty of doctor’s checkups and house projects among other things. I’m tired and time has flown.

Life Lately: Warm Days & Writer’s Block
Summer is definitely my least inspired season, personally. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve sat down to write a blog post lately and have just stared at the blank screen, feeling absolutely NO inspiration or ideas whatsoever. (I mean, entertaining three kids all summer will also do that to you–but I swear it’s something about the weather and long days, too.)

My sincere apologies for the long absence. I’m afraid I’ve had a serious case of the summertime blah’s (does anyone else hate hot weather? And this year we’ve got choking wildfire smoke to boot!). I’ve started so many post drafts but the words come to me like molasses, and I get frustrated and ditch the post before I’ve really gotten into it.

Thoughts on Cultivating Resilience
I just finished a charming little book called The Finnish Way by Katja Pantzar. The cover makes it look like any other Scandinavian lifestyle book at my local library–I’ve read almost all of them at this point!–but its contents re-sparked my interest in a topic I used to be very interested in: resilience.
