Life Lately: Hello, Neglected Blog!
I think April and May are busier than Christmastime when you have kids. Usually I feel as if I have, like, three friends (and that’s great, I’m an introvert lol) but somehow I have about seventy-six social obligations in two months’ time once the weather turns warm.
Also I’ve just been feeling like I’m waiting lately. There are so many exciting things coming up in our lives, not just at the beginning of summer but also this fall and winter, and I feel like I just can’t wait sometimes. I always struggle with staying present and not thinking the grass is greener six months from now, you know? But I know that’s a perpetual struggle for a lot of people, not just myself.

Living a Balanced Life: Use It Up, Wear It Out…
…Make it do or do without. I am full of inspiration to be thriftier and in the process more eco-friendly, as I’m reading a wonderful book right now called The Simple Home.
We cook (mostly) from scratch, take hand-me-downs, use up our food stores/art supplies/toiletries etc, and try to buy sales for everything from food to clothing to home improvement items. Growing a Family & Friendships

Especially in the past year, I’ve really started to feel the distance between most of my friends from “previous lives” (high school and college) and my current life and self. Most of them do not have kids and/or are unsure if they want any. I am guessing many new-ish parents can relate.
This is one area I was definitely wearing rose-tinted glasses when planning a family. Expecting that people who felt so close and supportive of us pre-kids, would continue to be close and supportive after having them. That’s not the case for most people.… Read More »
