I’m excited to share day 7 of 30 Days of Feminine Inspiration with you soon! I’m dropping in with an unrelated update about Just to Claireify social media.
In the past I’ve “wiped the slate clean” several times by deleting my original Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media accounts. I have since remade three of them: Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook (although I never remade a blog Facebook page, knowing I’d never remember to update it!).
My Facebook is a personal account for close friends and family. If you know me personally and would like to see our family updates, you can friend me on there 🙂
My Pinterest account is mostly curated towards blog-related content–recipes, home decor, lifestyle, self-care things–and boards on personal topics are private.
My Instagram has been a mishmash of both personal and blog-related, aesthetic content and going forward I am going to keep it blog-related only and update it more frequently!
Personally I feel uncomfortable sharing family news and adventures on a public Instagram account, especially doing it frequently. That’s not to judge anyone who does (although I do wish some bloggers and especially vloggers would get their cameras out of their older kids’ personal lives–thousands of people shouldn’t be hearing about your daughters’ first period, your 8-year-old’s meltdown or time/location stamps in real time!). To me it just feels like I am going for the low-hanging fruit of content, my cute kids, instead of posting content that actually brings my ideal audience value.
But I do want that account to stay public and to be more curated and regularly updated. So I’m going to keep it public, but JtC content only now. I don’t think I’ll take down what is there currently, but I don’t plan to share more of it nor do I plan to create another personal IG account to do so. Family photo albums and the occasional Facebook post will suffice for that 🙂
xx Claire
