I took last week off from blogging as we had family in town and a packed schedule and to-do list. Now there’s a lull in our lives between autumn and the holiday season, perfect to fill with election anxiety perfect for catching up on all the optional-but-fun things for a few weeks! What a month, friends. We had so much going on between kids’ commitments, out-of-town family, home to-do’s and travel planning–and ending the month with a bout of pinkeye for 3/5 of us–that I feel like I blinked and it’s May! School will be wrapping up soon, and then we’ll have a couple of weeks free before summer activities start.
While I’m ready for summer, I’m also enjoying that we’re getting a real spring this year instead of skipping straight from snow to 90 degrees. I loveee rainy days and we’ve had a bunch of them lately (including this morning). Obviously I don’t live in the right place for that, most of the time… but I’ve been channeling my inner Sydney/Bay Area/temperate region girl and enjoying the in-between season this year :)… Read More »
Goodbye, March! I hope you and yours have fun plans for Easter weekend and the impending warm weather. We’re planning our garden, gearing up for family in town and spring sports. The zoo will have baby animals at their farm soon and our pool pass is purchased for summer!

My sincere apologies for the long absence. I’m afraid I’ve had a serious case of the summertime blah’s (does anyone else hate hot weather? And this year we’ve got choking wildfire smoke to boot!). I’ve started so many post drafts but the words come to me like molasses, and I get frustrated and ditch the post before I’ve really gotten into it.

Happy April and almost-Easter to those who celebrate 🙂 I’m looking forward to our low-key holiday this weekend: Easter baskets and a chocolate egg hunt for the kids, brunch with my mom in-person and sister virtually too. And whatever the weather is right now, it MUST get warm soon so there’s that to look forward to as well. *Looks away from window so I can’t see the freezing rain and snow*
